29 Black Children Vanished in 22 Months… Only 1 Man Convicted

July 1979 to May 1981. Twenty-nine Black children and young adults disappeared in Atlanta, Georgia in just 22 months. Bodies found in woods, rivers, under bushes. All African-American. Ages 7 to 27. Mostly boys.
The city erupted in panic. Parents pulled children from school. Curfews imposed. Celebrities offered rewards. Every few weeks, another child vanished.
