5th Ward & Kashmere Gardens; Life in Houston's northeast side

We visited the northeast side of Houston’s black community in Kasmere Gardens & 5th Ward, one of Houston’s most prominent ghettos. We learned of an officer involved shooting of Frederick “Cat Eye Fred” Roy, 35, who was shot and killed on Hoffman back in August 2015. The killing of Roy stemmed from a domestic violence incident.
We met an OG named Lil Glover aka Shorty approximately 60 years old that briefly told us that he was from the 5th Ward. We also met Shano from Rollin 60s Crips in Houston, based in the Greens Point area of North Houston.
