Niesha Jackson, famously dubbed the “Bank Robbing Babe,” opened up about her arrest after nearly being on the run in a recent interview. Returning to Fairfield to visit her children, Niesha was apprehended in a hotel parking lot by police. Despite attempts to evade capture—using a fake ID and other disguises—she ultimately accepted her fate, preparing to serve a lengthy prison sentence. Jackson pled guilty to fraud charges involving over $1 million, resulting in a 187-month sentence (over 15 years) plus supervised release and restitution of $630,000. At 35, she faces losing much of her prime years behind bars, with release projected around age 50.
Reflecting on prison life, Niesha described a tough existence marked by conflicts, gang tensions, and transfers between facilities, including time at the largest women’s prison in Alabama. Despite harsh conditions and lack of support systems for many inmates, she remains focused on her eventual release and future beyond incarceration.
