SHARE – BJ the Chicago Kid spoke to VladTV about his upcoming album, In My Mind, which he said isn’t a typical R&B album, but he wasn’t quite ready to speak about features or a release date. However, the Midwest singer did speak about working with Chance the Rapper and Buddy on his latest single, “Church.”

BJ told us that he feels like he’s perfecting the art of collaborating on songs, adding, “I’m understanding that it’s not about comfort zone for an artist on a record, but it’s about making something we’ve all never made before.”

During the conversation the “It’s True” artist spoke about avoiding gangs while growing up in Chicago, and BJ said that he’s thankful for the lessons he learned while growing up in the city. He then spoke about moving to L.A., which you can hear more about above.
