Also known as Parker Crane, or Marilyn Crane, the Bride in Black is an evil entity found in the alternate realm known as The Further in the Insidious franchise. But long before becoming a ghost, Parker was just an innocent child, terrorized by his psychotic mother. We can follow his story through flashbacks and newspaper clippings found in the Insidious movies, in order to better understand him and how he became the threat that Elise feared the most.
In this video, I’ll be analyzing everything we know about The Bride In Black, from his sad childhood as the son of Michelle Crane, to his transformation into a killer to his involvement with Josh Lambert and his family, and finally, his rivalry with Elise Rainier and ultimate defeat.
My analysis will be based on the canon material, in this case Insidious (2010), Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) and Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015).
