The man suspected of shooting rapper Sauce Walka in Memphis, Tenn., on March 22 has been found dead in Texas.
According to a Memphis Police Department statement published on Monday, March 31, Jayden Dandridge, 21, who was suspected in the shooting outside of the Westin Hotel in downtown Memphis, was found deceased in Houston. Police also identified a second suspect, 22-year-old Kevin Brown, who remains at large.
Memphis police issued a warrant for Brown’s arrest, charging him with first-degree Murder, attempted first-degree murder, employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and theft of property $10,000-$60,000.
The MPD previously released video footage appearing to show Dandridge speeding off in a white vehicle, holding an object and a backpack.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 170 Lt. George W. Lee, the site of the Westin Hotel, at about 2:42 p.m. on March 22. Letorian Hunt, 27, was pronounced deceased on the scene. Hunt performed as a rapper, who went by the stage name Sayso P. Albert Mondane, 34, known professionally as Sauce Walka, was transported to Regional One Health with critical wounds. #saucewaka
