East Oakland rapper Cookie Money spoke to VladTV about getting involved in the streets as a teenager, watching friends get killed, and hiding everything from his family and making it seem like he was living a normal life. It wasn’t until friends of Cookie’s incarcerated father caught him did he start living more openly.

When asked if he thought he was following his dad’s footsteps, Cookie said that he never viewed himself as being full-time in the streets, even if he was. During the conversation, Cookie Money also spoke about beating a felony gun charge, which you can hear more about in the above clip.
