A Kentucky fifth-grade math teacher, Sydne Graf, is facing far more serious accusations after a grand jury indicted her on charges including first-degree rape and sodomy of a child under 12. Graf was initially arrested after police intercepted her while she was allegedly attempting to pick up a student she had been sending sexually explicit messages to during a remote learning day. Prosecutors now allege the case goes beyond disturbing online conversations to direct sexual abuse, dramatically escalating the scope of the investigation.
