FRIDAY NIGHT ROCKS: "PIGGY IN THE MIDDLE"

Piggy in the Middle (also known by the misprinted title I Am the Waitress) was a song on the Tragical History Tour album and film in 1967. It was written by Ron Nasty and credited to Nasty-McQuickly. The song released as a single, backed with “Silver Jubilee” (Listed as “Hello Get Lost”), and became a hit.

The song originated after Nasty found out that his old English teacher was making his class interpret the Rutles’ lyrics, so Nasty wrote the most ridiculously silly lyrics he could. It later created controversy when certain Stig is dead fans noted that it sounds as if Nasty is saying “I Buried Stig.” Infact he sings “E Burres stigano,” which is very bad Spanish for “Have you a water buffalo?”.
