Dynzell Sigers recounted the dramatic height operation he underwent, resulting in four inches of added height. The procedure, detailed by Sigers, involved cutting his thigh bones in half to insert a rod connecting his hip to his knee. An external device then helps lengthen the bones by turning a key to expand the rod. Despite medical advice recommending a maximum gain of three inches, Sigers opted for four. This decision was backed by Sigers’ determination and desire to transform his life, as he tackled the painful aftermath of the surgery without heavy reliance on painkillers.
Describing the pain as “excruciating,” Sigers noted it surpassed previous traumatic experiences such as being stabbed or involved in car accidents. Surprisingly, he managed to walk the day of surgery, illustrating his resilience. While the bone lengthening process takes about 90 days, the internal rods in his legs remain, awaiting removal once his bone is fully healed, a process that could extend up to two years. Despite the challenges, Sigers viewed the procedure as a pivotal step towards a fresh start.
