Artists from some major cities have made it clear that you need to check in with them before handling any business, and when AR-Ab and Dark Lo were asked if the rule applied in Philly, he says he doesn’t want to intimidate anyone. “I really can make it like that, but then I’d be a bully.” He elaborated that the phone calls and meet-and-greets would be disingenuous. “It’s not going to be genuine; it’s not going to be love. Once they get out of the city, it’s like ‘Man, that n**** trippin.'”

Deeper into the discussion, the rappers reminisced the last time they saw Chinx and talked about how dangerous it is for artists when they go home and how they prevent from falling victim. Dark Lo says the late rapper always showed love and often asked about AR while he served his time in prison, and though AR says he almost had the same fate as Chinx, he makes sure to move differently. “You got to move super, super, super secure in Philly anyway, so outside [of] my neighborhood, I’m always looking for it. Not saying I’m living the life it causes to look for it, but it’s like, it’s crazy. Your own people. They’d be the ones.”

He added, “In my neighborhood, we all family so I feel secure in my neighborhood. When I’m outside of my neighborhood, though, I’ll be protected [and] keep a guy with me and both of us are probably strapped down.”
