In this clip, DJ Paul discussed a number of things. He talked about his time working with artists that seemed to have spotty pasts but according to DJ Paul the artists that seem to be the biggest “f*** ups” make the best artists. He said that if you’re looking for the next rapper to go look in the projects, not college. But DJ Paul did concede that his love for Kanye changed his outlook on that a bit pointing out how Ye created a lane for those who weren’t street. He also discusses the time he threatened to do a drive-by after promoters kept cutting his sound off to bleep profanity.
He also discussed the profits he made from being independent for so long recollecting that he had $100K in high school. DJ Paul talked about the phenomenon of face tattoos and how Lil Wayne ushered in the movement. He also showed off a few of his tattoos and revealed that he’s paid for a few of his tats with an 8-ball of cocaine.
