Dr. Boyce Watkins To Tyler, the Creator: I Didn’t F*** You Over

https://www.vladtv.com – Established author and analyst Dr. Boyce Watkins is known in the hip-hop industry for voicing his opinion on issues pertaining to the field and not being afraid to do so. Case in point, Lil Wayne, a rapper who Boyce Watkins has had issues with for years.
Most know the story between the two: Dr. Boyce Watkins was fed up with Weezy’s often violent and berating lyrics, and after finding out about his deal with beverage company Mountain Dew he contacted them directly and Wayne ultimately lost his deal. Interestingly enough, it was Tyler, the Creator’s racially-charged commercial that gave Boyce Watkins the spark he needed to get Wayne’s attention, and after getting caught in the crossfire Tyler lost his deal as well. Dr. Boyce Watkins on the other hand, was happy that his plan worked. “It wasn’t that I like seeing people lose money, but it was the fact that I needed [Lil Wayne] to understand that you can’t just go make your money and say “f*** the whole Black community,” Boyce Watkins stated.
When it comes to Tyler, the social commentator has apologized and offered to speak with him one-on-one several times. “I didn’t f*** you over Tyler, it was Mountain Dew who f***** you over because they should not have let you just do whatever you want without at least reviewing the political implications of what you were putting out.” He says he even gave his number to a mutual friend of theirs to give to the Golf Wang frontman, but unfortunately never received a call.
