In this clip, Lecrae gave his interpretation of Kendrick Lamar’s hit single “Alright” off his second studio album, To Pimp A Butterfly, paying special attention to the hook stating that he hears Kendrick having a battle with faith. He said that the lyrics reflected honesty in one’s inner battle with faith. The conversation jumped to Lecrae discussing his experience collaborating with Ty Dolla $ign and how he, along with Metro Boomin and Ear Drummers all produced on his latest album “All Things Work Together.”

While discussing his experience working with Ty Dolla $ign, Lecrae spoke on how he balances his faith with the industry and in particular avoiding certain vices. Lecrae admitted to drinking in moderation but does not smoke, but he said that he doesn’t condemn anyone who does. Lecrae also talked about working with artists whose content may not be in alignment with his statement that he’d work with anyone if it’s real. He gave the example of working with a trap rapper but that it would have to be a track that reveals the other side of the lifestyle. When asked could he have jumped on Future’s “Mask Off” Remix, Lecrae admitted that he would’ve had to pass but said he loved how Kendrick flipped it.
