In this clip, Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad discuss Kendrick Lamar’s comments regarding ghostwriting. According to K.Dot, having a ghostwriter automatically disqualifies you from being in the greatest rapper conversation to which point Lord Jamar agrees. Drake naturally came up at the center of this topic and Lord Jamar doubled down by saying Drake is a great entertainer but in no way can claim the crown. To Lord Jamar the Hip-Hop crown requires you to “write your own sh*t” and be original. The conversation shifted to Kanye West and his use of ghostwriters and how Ye doesn’t receive nearly the same amount of criticism as Drake. Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad continue to debate on top five lyricists, J. Cole v. Black Thought, and Lord Jamar even gives a brief take on his R&B tastes.
