In this clip, Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad discuss the ongoing saga with the NFL and player protests. Lord Jamar talked about how the protests were impacting the league’s dipping ratings and how he’s not watching any of the games. He even said he’s been boycotting since the preseason. But Lord Jamar commends the players that are protesting because it is setting the stage for further, more consistent action. He was very direct in stating that those who choose not to take action are still making a choice which effects everyone else. Lord Jamar went on to talk about how the NFL needs to admit to being a racist organization and that they are deliberately blackballing Kaepernick. He even likened Kap to Kunta Kinte, stating that the NFL is metaphorically cutting Kap’s foot off for his disobedience. Lord Jamar and DJ Vlad also discuss the negative impact of collision sports and the future of football while comparing some of the longer adverse effects to combat sports like MMA and boxing.
