Luenell: My People Got a “I Got Mine” Mentality

Comedian Luenell breaks down why she thinks Black music moguls had so much success launching their own record labels over top Black actors in Hollywood who haven’t launched their own studios. Luenell tells DJ Vlad, “We have a very ‘I got mine’ type of mentality. A lot of us will put people on, but only to a certain extent.”

As the interview progressed, Luenell says she’s heard about financial ceiling caps some studios will put on Black movies and even a Black actors’ salary. Watch the full clip above.
