MC Eiht on Rappers Calling Themselves 2Pac: It’s Never West Coast Rappers

MC Eiht in this segment of his interview with VladTV confronts the new phenomenon of modern-day rappers calling themselves the “New Pac” or variations thereof. Eiht and Vlad note that it’s everyone but west coast rappers that co-opt Pac’s legacy, citing Troy Ave, Boosie BadAzz, and Young Thug. “I don’t know if it’s because people wanna live off his legacy,” MC Eiht says, “But you can be hard in your own right…I’ve never had the feeling of wanting to call myself the next Eazy-E or the next Cube, even when I looked up to them.” Watch above.
