Michael Blackson sat down for an exclusive interview with VladTV where he spoke about moving to the U.S. from Ghana, getting into comedy, taking advantage of the American dream, and more.

When speaking about moving to the U.S., Michael revealed that he and his family escaped a civil war in West Africa after they were granted a visa due to his mother being a pastor. After permanently moving to the U.S. after being in Africa, Michael explained how he started taking advantage of what our country had to offer by always grasping opportunities presented to him.

The “Meet the Blacks” star then explained how he got into comedy at the advice of a co-worker, and it was only six months before he started getting paid gigs. While everything seemed to be on an upswing for the budding comedian, Michael revealed that he once walked away from a $300 paid gig because he was angry about his set.
