Solo Lucci on Being a Crip, History of Gangs in Fort Worth, TX (Part 1)

In this clip, Solo Lucci discussed his upbringing from having a father that was a pastor, living in a single-parent household, and joining the Crips at 13. Solo Lucci spoke about the hardships he faced particularly due to his parents not being together. He stated that the hardest thing he had to do growing up without his father in the picture on a daily basis was to learn how to fight.

Solo Lucci went on to talk about joining the Crips and the history of the gang in Fort Worth. According to Lucci, one of the original Crips to move to Texas from LA married his aunt making the connection all the more solidified. He detailed some of the setbacks that come with gang banging and stated that despite the perception many have of those who join gangs, Lucci says these young men (and women) are still human beings.
