After his massive success with Wu-Tang and watching Master P blow up, Steve Rifkind was ready to sign an artist in the South, which came along with Three 6 Mafia. During an exclusive interview with VladTV, Steve revealed that he sold his company to Sony because of Three 6 Mafia, who were able to keep all of their publishing with their deal.

Other artists who Steve had the opportunity to sign were Eminem, whom he didn’t feel had a marketable enough sound at the time, and Jay Z, whose deal was blocked by RCA.

Steve also spoke about getting death threats and kidnapping threats on his child, which you can hear more about in the above clip.
