Bay Area legend joined VladTV to talk about the origin of his name, his days as a Sharpie “tagger,” and how he began selling his music in Oakland’s Arroyo Park. Too Short describes how he got his business off the ground doing “special requests,” or customizable raps: “I would take down what block we were on, who was it that wanted the tapes, and we started adding to the pitch that for $20 we’ll make you a tape about you…Doing special requests turned us into mascots of the city.”
