In this clip from VladTV’s interview with Wood Harris, the versatile actor takes Vlad through the early stages of his career. Wood explains that as a kid, he would watch old black and white movies and do impersonations of film noir actors like James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart. Hip-hop, however, came easier for him: “Hip hop was us. We never thought we could be the Rolling Stones,” he says. From there, Wood talks his rap career, his political awakening brought upon by the city of Chicago, going to NYU to get his Master’s degree, and getting his first role in Above the Rim. Watch above.
