Momodu Gondo, a former Baltimore detective and member of the Gun Trace Task Force (GTTF), opened up about his role in a notorious police corruption scandal. Assigned to the elite unit tasked with seizing illegal firearms, Gondo was initially respected for his investigative skills. However, he admitted to participating in thefts during search warrants, stealing cash seized from suspects. Gondo described how officers would selectively underreport the amounts of confiscated money, pocketing large sums for themselves. In one case, he stole $400,000 during a multi-officer raid. These robberies were facilitated by falsifying reports and exploiting the trust within the unit.
