Florida 12-Year-Old Admits to Pulling Trigger in Triple Murder

Three teenagers—Layla Silvernail, Michael Hodo Jr., and Camille Quarles—were brutally murdered in Marion County, Florida, in 2023, with their bodies discovered near a dumpster, on the roadside, and in the trunk of a submerged car. The killers turned out to be juveniles themselves: 17-year-old Robert Robinson, 16-year-old Tahj Brewton, and 12-year-old Christopher Atkins, who admitted in interrogation that he was forced to shoot Camille under threat from Robinson. This year, Atkins—now 15—was sentenced to 40 years in prison with eligibility for review after 25 years, while Brewton and Robinson both received life sentences with similar sentence reviews due to their ages. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner has the updates from court.
