What is Hip hop? A Music Genre , a forgotten moment in history, a culture?

In this Video I will be presented a brief overview of the hip hop culture and its origination

Hip-hop originated in the predominantly melanated American neighborhoods of South Bronx, New York City (late 1970s.)

Hip hop as both a musical genre and a culture was formed when block parties became increasingly popular in New York City.

The Corner stones of hip hop:
rhythm and poetry (Rap)- in the form of MC ( Master of Ceremonies)
Music – in the Form of DJ/DeeJay
Dance – in the Form of Breakdancing
Art – in the form of Graffiti

Todays hip hop music and hip hop dance is a direct descendent to its origins.

New Hip hop songs songs still resonant with these 4 corner stones.
Now hip hop is a global movement Shaping all aspects of culture.

Some members of the hip hop community have been included in the Rolling Stone Magazine as well as the Rock and Roll hall of Fame.

After this video I hope that you have will have a better appreciation for hip hop. My Goal is to turn you into a hip hop scholar with a continued hunger to learn about our culture.
