Fans Attack Drake For R Kelly Collab On Certified Lover Boy!

Drake’s new album Certified Lover Boy was released on streaming services Friday, September 3. It features guest appearances by Future, Travis Scott and Rick Ross.

R. is a name that is grabbing attention for all the wrong reasons. Kelly is listed as co-writer of the track “TSU.”

R. Kelly’s inclusion in Certified Lover Boy became public news Friday morning. Questions were raised about the reason for his songwriting credit.

Fans speculated that it was due to *NSYNC’s sampling of “TSU’s” “Sailing”, a cover of Christopher Cross’ 1980 soft rock song — in which R. Kelly is rumored have been involved. This explains why Justin Timberlake and Christopher Cross, ex-members of *NSYNC, are listed in the credits along with “TSU” producers Harley Arsenault and Noel Cadastre, and OG Ron C.

According to WhoSampled, and later confirmed by Rolling Stone: “TSU” contains a sample from R. Kelly’s 1998 hit “Half on a Baby.” Drake’s stripper anthem samples R. Kelly’s symphonic intro.
