Soulja Boy took to social media to announce that he, Soulja Boy, now owns Atari. He is quite explicit about it, too: “I own Atari.” He is the first rapper to own a videogame company. Soulja Boy says that Atari will buy Soulja Boy’s console company for $140 million. This is in contrast to the state of Atari, where various companies have owned bits and pieces. Projects involving the brand name of the company, such as hotels themed around games, have been planned. The Atari VCS hybrid computer/console is the most prominent co-owner of the brand. Wade Rosen, who is the majority shareholder and CEO of the company, is the leader in this case. Although it is not clear what caused this, Soulja Boy has made bold claims about his business ventures in the past.
