Universal Records Did Kanye Dirty With Donda Today!
Kanye West’s Donda album, which had been delayed for six days, unexpectedly arrived on Sunday (August 29,) six days before the most recent release date.
He wrote, “UNIVERSAL PUT MEY ALBUM OUT UNTIL MY APPROVAL,” “AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON OUR ALBUM.”
“Jail 2,” Kanye’s collaborations with DaBaby. This was apparently cut at the very last moment. Fans only learned of its existence on Thursday (August 26) during Ye’s third public album listening party at Chicago’s Soldier Field.
The original version featured a Kanye-JAY-Z verse, but the new version has him absent and is complete with DaBaby’s verse.
Kanye West’s Donda rollout is already fraught with controversy. The original release date was July 23, but it was later moved to August 6, and then finally August 27. The anticipation for the album reached fever pitch on Thursday night, after Ye’s manager stated Donda would be uploaded immediately to digital streaming platforms at midnight EST Friday (August 28).
Many of his fans were surprised to learn that it did not materialize. Fans were confused when it was suddenly released. JAY-Z was on “Jail” again, but DaBaby wasn’t. Kanye claimed that DaBaby’s manager Arnold Taylor was to blame for the mess. Taylor said he would not clear the song.

Kanye and Universal Music Group have had their share of issues over the years. He threatened to sue Sony Music and Universal Music if they failed to return his masters last September.
