In this clip, Japanese hip-hop sensation Awich talks to Shirley Ju about her love for 2Pac and the way in which “Ambitionz Az A Ridah” was her introduction to his entire catalog. From there, she reveals that she moved to Atlanta for college, where she was put on to music by Soulja Boy, Franchise Boyz, Lil Jon, Three 6 Mafia, and other rappers from the dirty South. She said that she felt a connection to South rap culture because, Atlanta reminded her of Okinawa, Japan, where she’s from. Later in the conversation, the “Link Up” rapper explains her parents’ reaction to the news that she was going to be moving from Japan to the ATL.

Moving along, Awich shares the story about how she met her ex-husband in Atlanta, while she was walking to college. She reveals that pulled up on her, randomly and was so charming that she eventually hopped in his car. After that, the gentlemen began to take Awich to school everyday. Lastly, the 35-year-old rapper explains what it was like for her to adjust to Atlanta, culturally, after having grown up in Okinawa, Japan.
