In this clip, Bizarre talks about growing up in Detroit during the 80’s and being raised by his mother after his father passed away. The 45-year-old reveals that his stage name stems back to when his 5th grade teacher would often refer to him as a “Bizarre kid.” As he got older and he began to take his rap career more seriously, he linked up with Proof who encouraged him to drop the word “kid” from his moniker, thus giving him the stage name Bizarre. As the conversation continues, Bizarre talks about some of his biggest influences during his early days, citing several New York rappers such as Redman, EPMD and LL Cool J. The Detroit rapper also explains exactly how D12 settled on their group name before they signed a deal with Interscope Records.
