In this clip, Coke La Rock opened up about being at the “Back to School Jam” in the Bronx in 1973, which is considered to be the first hip-hop party. He then added that a lot of people claiming to be at the party were not, as he explained that people didn’t venture out of their neighborhoods around that time. He also spoke about birthing rap at a party with DJ Kool Herc, which you can hear more about above.
