In this clip, De’Aundre Bonds talks about his memorable portrayal of a character named Stacey in a classic 90s film called “The Wood.” The Los Angeles native explains why the role opened up doors for him as an up-and-coming actor and how it led to him meeting John Singleton for the very first time, while on set. The actor then reveals that Singleton had a role in mind for him, but that it never came to fruition because he ended up doing an 11-year bid in prison but he suspects that he would have been up for a major role in “Baby Boy.” He also shares that his prison stint made him lose faith in God, after stating that it also cost him a chance to be in a Denzel Washington film. As the conversation moves along, Bonds shares how he regained his faith, while he was behind bars. Moving along, he talks about educating himself behind bars, exercising and the other ways that he keep himself busy in prison.
