In the second part of his “Deep Dive” series, Mike Dorsey, the filmmaker behind the “Murder Rap” documentary and co-producer behind scripted series “Unsolved,” which centered on the Biggie and 2Pac murders, took a deeper look into Biggie being investigated before he was killed. Dorsey started off by addressing a rumor that Biggie was being investigated by the NYPD while he was in L.A. for the Soul Train Awards, and that somehow the investigators saw his murder and covered it up. Dorsey stated that after a raid at Biggie’s home in 1996, he was being investigated by the NYPD and the IRS, including the night before he was killed in Los Angeles. Dorsey was able to obtain documents that revealed that Biggie was being investigated, and he also detailed how their cover was blown and they left L.A. the night before Biggie was killed.
