We recently sat down with Memphis Director Ripp for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about growing up in North Memphis, jumping off the porch, going to college, writing & publishing books, starting his own label Ripp Records Entertainment, managing his son Lil Chris, stepping fully out of music, making his first movie in 2015, being featured on an episode of Wife Swap, breakdown the experience of shooting his movie, explains why he doesn’t wait on anybody, finding the right actors for roles in his movies, believing he has the best crew on set, working closely with Memphis rapper Criminal Manne, their first movie together ‘Da Neighborhood Dopemane’, the movie going viral on social media, starting his own entertainment company, shooting 7 movies in 2023, challenging himself to film a whole movie in 3 days, editing his own films, the inspiration for his movies ‘Lot Lizards’ & ‘The Woods’, his movies being distributed on streaming platforms by The Maverick, his new movie ‘Played’, having a strong passion for filmmaking, 2018 being his breakthrough year, having his own trucking business, being interviewed on Fox 13 in Memphis, and much more!
