In the latest clip, Ed Lover explained where his popular “C’mon Son” phrase originated from. He said the phrase was born as a result of his commentary on a story he read about Jeezy and DJ Drama. When his friend posted the commentary on ThisIs50, the received was filled with comments and Ed was encouraged to keep making similar posts. Despite its popularity, the posts stopped once Ed lost his editors.

Later in the clip, Ed Lover discussed the circumstances surrounding his dismissal from Power 105. He believes he was let go because the station was moving in a younger direction and he was making too much money. Ed mentioned that what upset him was the way he was let go, considering his reputation was a New York host and the fact that his ratings were always in the top three. He ended by questioning why older, White hosts are able to keep their jobs easier than older, Black hosts.
