In this clip, Vlad asked Gilbert Arenas about Ben Gordon’s recent arrest in Harlem, and Gilbert explained that he knows about Ben’s mental health history. Gilbert explained that he knows Ben and has trained with him, and Gilbert added that Ben is bipolar. From there, Gilbert spoke about how being an athlete can help regulate someone with bi-polar, as NBA players are being monitored every day. Gilbert then questioned what happens to these people after they leave the NBA, and he stated that Ben is a “good guy.” Vlad then stated that Kanye appears to be going through the same thing, which Gilbert questioned. Gilbert also brought up former NBA player Delonte West, who Gilbert believes is unregulated now that he’s out of the league. Vlad then shared his experience with a friend, Disco D, who suffered from bipolar disorder, and he also spoke about how he’s seen similar people on L.A.’s Skid Row. Vlad and Gilbert continued to speak about Kanye, including how he canceled a tour in the middle of a show. Gilbert stated that he thinks Kanye did it on purpose, as he explained that the only way to get out of the contract was to blame it on mental illness.
