In this clip, Gilbert Arenas spoke about Lakers assistant coach Phil Handy speaking to him about how Kobe would tell them how to coach, and Gilbert explained that Kobe’s routines were “intense” before games. Gilbert added that Kobe always trained for his toughest opponents, and Gilbert went on to react to Kobe joining the NBA after high school to play against Jordan. When asked about players not being able to join until they do a year in college, Gilbert explained that there are going to be successes and failures regardless. Gilbert then explained why they think that high school graduates should be able to be drafted, and Gilbert stated that the players union makes the rules. Gilbert explained that veteran players get pushed out faster when high school graduates get drafted, which is why he thinks the rule was made. Gilbert then pointed out that female basketball players have to wait 4 years to play in the WNBA, which he believes is ruining the sport.
