In this clip, Illmind started off speaking about working on “Heard About Us” on Jay-Z and BeyoncĂ©’s “The Carters” album, which led to Illmind getting his first Grammy. During the conversation, Illmind shared his thoughts on Drake and Kanye boycotting the Grammys, and he stated that you have to commend them for standing on their beliefs. Moving along, Illmind revealed that he had to sign an NDA while working on “X” for the “Black Panther” soundtrack, and he also detailed working on Nicki Minaj’s “Hard White.” Moving along, Illmind opened up about his “Squad of Knights” NFT, and he explained how it’s a continuation of his decade-long career. Illmind then explained how he saw his purpose of bringing artists and producers together while creating the NFT.
Finally, Illmind talked about his admiration for Guapdad 4000 as a recording artist and how that eventually led to a friendship where he now considers the Bay Area rapper to be like a brother of his. From there, he talks about making an album together that would go on to be released by an Asian/Asian American record label called 88Rising. From there, he talks about contributing to the “D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape” project by Dreamville. The New Jersey native also reveals what it was like to be a part of the creative process for “Revenge of the Dreamers” album, although the music that he created for the project didn’t make the final cut. As the discussion comes to an end, Illmind shares his excitement for his upcoming projects before revealing that a lot of his attention recently has been focused on NFTs.
