Jordan Belfort came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he spoke about how his story was portrayed in the Hollywood film “Wolf of Wall Street,” with Leonardo DiCaprio portraying him. Jordan spoke about his upbringing in Queens with both parents being accountants, but Jordan had an entrepreneurial spirit at a young age that led to several business ventures that funded his college. Jordan then spoke about deciding to be a trainee stockbroker, which led to a conversation about penny stocks and him starting his own company, Stratton Oakmont. During the conversation, Jordan also spoke about being investigated and later indicted for securities fraud and money laundering in 1999. Jordan was later sentenced to four years, and he spoke about sharing a cell with “Cheech and Chong” actor Tommy Chong, who encouraged him to write a book about his life. After leaving prison, a bidding war started for the film rights to his book, which later went to Martin Scorsese.
