In this clip, LaVar Ball had sharp words for Golden State Warriors coach, Steve Kerr. Ball called Kerr the “Milli Vanilli” of coaching, referring to the famous lip-syncing scandal of ’90s music duo Milli Vanilli. Ball contended that Kerr’s coaching is no more than standing doing nothing, crediting his success to the talent of the players rather than his own management skills. Ball also devalued the role of coaching in general, pointing to Phil Jackson’s coaching of Michael Jordan at the Bulls and the Lakers, claiming Jackson believed in his players and let them do their thing, rather than actively coaching them. Turning to his own family, Ball espoused his belief that his sons’ talent will really come to prominence once they reach their mid-twenties and claimed that LiAngelo, currently a player for the Greensboro Swarm, is a better player than Melo, who plays for the Charlotte Hornets.
