We recently sat down with 1017 artist Li Rye for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about working on his first project with 1017, the culture in Mobile, plans to move to LA or Vegas, being the oldest of all his siblings, jumping off the porch when he was 17, having a scholarship to go to college, explains why he decided not to go, breaking generational curses, wanting to be a dentist when he was younger but feeling like it was not realistic for him, his friend Red passing away recently, starting to rap in 2019, dropping his first music video in 2022, his song “Punch In” blowing up on TikTok, dropping “EST Flow”, going to jail the same night he shot the video, signing a deal that didn’t work out for him, Gucci reaching out to his manager, signing with 1017, receiving his 1017 on stage at a show in Miami, spending $40k at the mall after he signed, reveals how he deals with rumors, dropping “Too Many” with Gucci after he signed, making a lot of pain music but not dropping them, his new music video “Christian”, upcoming project, not writing his songs, shares advice, and much more!
