We recently sat down with Illinois artist Marvia Lawerence for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he discussed his life growing up in Alton, jumping off the porch at the age of 7, learning how to hustle at a very early age, being influenced by his brother to get into music, playing sports before pursing music, taking his career serious for the past 2/3 years, incorporating his life lessons, noticing his hard work paying off two years ago when he crowned himself King of the Alton, wanting others to feel that they can achieve anything when they listen to his music, staying authentic when it comes to his craft, his project “Coke Balboa”, dropping 38 songs in 38 days last year, his consistent work ethic as an artist, bringing more exposure to the city of Alton, his vision in regards to his bar establishment that he’s opening up, his theory on the “Coochie Curse”, and more!
