In this clip, Shawn Prez reflects back on the days when he worked for Diddy, during which time he reveals that his former boss used to listen to “Never Would Have Made It” by Marvin Sapp. To that, Marvin talks about performing live at Diddy’s 50th birthday party before revealing that Diddy wanted him to stay at the event, but he was unable to due to a previous commitment. The two men then go into detail about how much the award-winning track means to Diddy. This prompts Shawn Prez to bring up the fact that the song has been sampled by stars such as Lil Wayne, Teyana, and DJ Khaled. Marvin then talks about why he’s happy that his music has made its way into the secular space. Lastly, Marvin shares a story about meeting Lil Wayne for the first time back in 2007.
