Oschino shared his harrowing journey through crime, starting with his first attempted robbery at just nine years old. Raised in the foster care system, Oschino’s early exposure to criminal activity set a grim precedent for his youth. His first brush with the law came when he was caught breaking into a newsstand, which led to subsequent stints in juvenile placements. This chaotic upbringing fostered an environment where crime seemed normal. Oschino transitioned to more serious offenses, including armed robberies, during his teenage years, eventually committing around 40 heists. He recounted using a cap gun in one of his first robberies, which netted him $400 and made him “hooked on the robberies.” Despite the financial gains—sometimes up to $5,000—Oschino acknowledged the perilous nature of his actions, including a stabbing incident that occurred when he was transferred to adult prison at 16. His time incarcerated marked a turning point, leading him to earn a GED and resolve to change his life.
