In the latest clip, Play explained how he transitioned into teaching at universities. He admitted to losing “pretty much everything” while he was suffering financially. While on tour for a gospel stage play, he was invited to Miles College where the school’s president hired him as an artist in residence. Due to his work at Miles College, Play had teaching tenures at North Carolina Central University and FAMU. To hear more about his work at HBCUs, view the above clip.
