We recently sat down with Arkansas rapper SelfPaid Savage for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about life in Helena, coming home from a 9 year prison sentence, jumping off the porch, his reaction to receiving his prison sentence, his mental state of mind during his time inside, having a solid support system on the outside, feeling like he is getting a second chance now that he is home, starting to rap in the past year, the music industry being fake, staying in contact with people who are locked up, the thriving music scene in Arkansas right now, his creative process, challenges that come with being an independent artist, his new EP ‘9 Years 9 Months’, the inspiration for his song “Reality Rap”, the concept for his music video “Increased Violence”, his new song “Draymond Green”, his next project, goals for his career, advice fro the youth, and much more!
