Shaggy on 'It Wasn't Me', Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Sting, Queen of England (Full Interview)
In Shaggy’s very first full-length interview with VladTV, he talks about his humble beginnings in Raytown, Kingston, Jamaica, the role that this specific region played in the development of toasting and sound system culture, and the huge influence that his grandmother played in his life, musically. As the conversation continues, he talks about what inspired him to move out of the ghetto and what led him to choose “Shaggy” as his stage name is music. He also talks about moving to New York and the culture shock that he experienced upon his arrival. The 53-year-old then shares his thoughts on being a father to Robb Banks, who is also a dedicated musician in his own right.
