Nicholas Irving weighed in on the infamous O.J. Simpson case, touching on why he believes it was plausible for Simpson to commit the double homicide for which he was tried but acquitted. Irving pointed out that O.J.’s history as a professional football player lent him significant physical strength, which could have enabled him to overpower two victims. Despite Simpson’s public persona as a likable figure, Irving speculated that O.J.’s private demeanor might have been markedly different. Irving emphasized that it’s not unusual for someone to commit violent acts and then carry on with their normal life. According to Irving, Simpson’s capacity for violence might have been underestimated because the public mainly saw his charismatic and endearing side. In Irving’s view, O.J.’s acquittal was influenced by the lengthy trial process, which likely wore down jurors, leading to reasonable doubt.
