In this clip, Tavis Smiley recounted his heated exchange with Al Sharpton at the funeral of Jet Magazine and Ebony Magazine founder/publisher, John H. Johnson. He said that was an example of how black people ought to be able to disagree without being “disagreeable.”
Later, Tavis spoke about his criticism of Barack Obama and why it wasn’t reflective of how he views the man but rather his attempt to push Obama into his greatness as a statesman.
